Meet Dr.Josie Ziegler (Cincinnati, OH)

Josie Ziegler earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry and her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Hebrew Language, from Temple University. Upon graduating from optometry school, she received the Kentucky College of Optometry Contact Lens Clinic Excellence Award and the GPLI 2022 Dr. Robert B. Mandell Gas Permeable Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of her clinical excellence in contact lens care. Dr. Ziegler is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC), the American Optometric Association and its Contact Lens Section, and the Ohio Optometric Association. She has also earned certification through the International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM) from the AAOMC, reflecting her commitment to advancing her knowledge and expertise in evidence-based myopia control to the highest degree.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ziegler is involved with the Midwest Optometric Society,

contributing to the advancement of optometric education and professional development. Through her involvement in continuing education initiatives, she supports opportunities for fellow optometrists to expand their clinical knowledge and stay current with emerging research, technologies, and treatment modalities. Dr. Ziegler remains committed to lifelong learning and to advancing the profession through collaboration, education, and innovative, patient-centered care.

Dr. Ziegler’s interest in optometry began when she was 7 years old and learning about Helen Keller in second grade. She decided then that she wanted to help people with various vision conditions. When she was 14 years old, she earned her first job as an optician and optometric technician. Dr. Ziegler continued this work for 10 years prior to optometry school.

Outside of work, Dr. Ziegler spends time with her husband and two children. She is an active member in the Cincinnati Jewish community, enjoys traveling, and exploring the Cincinnati area.
